Masterpiece Theater Classic Presents Oliver Twist with TImothy Spall as Fagin

Timothy Spall might not be a household name here in the US but he is most certainly recognizable as Peter Pettigrew in Harry Potter. .

Spall's career spans a number of dramas on tv, film and stage in Europe and he's terrific in Harry Potter, but now he's got a major part opposite Daniel Radcliffe (again) in Oliver Twist for Masterpiece Theater Classics.

What's really interesting is that Spall plays Fagin in Oliver Twist and his work is impeccable and so deep in the character. He's managed to infuse some empathy or sympathy into Fagin

I would like to thank Timothy Spall for giving me such a fantastic interview. He's a great man and very very funny.

Thank you to PBS/WGBH Boston and Olivia Wong too!

Oliver Twist stars tonight, 2/15 on PBS channels on the Masterpiece Theater. Check your local listings for time and channels.
