The Shriver Report: A Man's Perspective from Michael Kimmel

The Shriver Report has been featured on this blog a couple of times and will be featured again very soon. ( Shriver Report post 1; Shriver Report post 2)

While Thom DeLorenzo and I did a podcast on The Shriver Report, it's important that A Woman's Nation, one of the organizers for this report, had one of the contributors to the report, Michael Kimmel talk on video about his participation and his thoughts about the report and the changes in the economic, business and social fabric because of the collective participation of women in the workforce.

Want to know more about The Shriver Report? You can find it online at The Shriver Report published by Simon & Schuster for you to download an ebook through major e-tailers. If you want to see bits and bites of this report, head to http://awomansnation.com/

Particularly interesting to see this post, video in light of the current crisis in the economic, business and social agency sectors going on in California at this time. When the unemployment rate is higher in LA County than most states and when the schools are cut to the bone to have to deal with virtually no nurses or psychologists on staff and class size is at an all-time high of 35 or more students per class, it's time to re-evaluate what's going on in this state, this country and compare it to The Shriver Report. Because going in and asking for a raise as Shriver herself suggests in the original podcast isn't going to be happening any time soon.
