At holiday time, there's so many movies out in theaters and also on Blu-ray and DVD that I hesitate to recommend-- except here's one that I would definitely suggest you buy (read that BUY!!) because it's hysterically funny. I am not huge on sequels but this goes far beyond being a sequel. It's a stand-alone movie that's even better than the original. It builds the characters and creates more dynamic interest
History is larger than life -- and twice as funny -- in this monumental comedy sequel. Ben Stiller stars as Larry Daley, a former night watchman at the Museum of Natural History, where the exhibits come alive after dark. But now Larry's nocturnal friends are being retired to the archives of the Smithsonian Institution, luring him back for a hilarious, all-out battle against a cranky Egyptian Pharaoh who plans to take over the museum... and the world! From returning director Shawn Levy, the film also stars Amy Adams, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria, Ricky Gervais, Steve Coogan and Jonah Hill.

Typically I don't expect much from sequels because they aren't as "original" as the first movie out of the chute. However with this movie, featuring the Smithsonian Museum(s), this is so cool, pushed so far beyond expectation and it was endlessly funny, witty and smart. More than just a kids' movie, this will be enjoyed by everyone!!
