Last Day on Kauai: Hitting Spouting Horn, Catching Rays & Chickens!
I love Lawai beach because it's not crowded. You can snorkel if you want or you can skip it. I decided to just sit and catch some sunshine. Given the number of sunblocks I had been testing, I needed to get some vitamin D.

Lawai Beach

Spouting Horn really blowing off some steam on this dday. Maybe it was going to miss us?
There are lots of chickens in Kauai -- and particularly here. Look for a separate post just on CHICKENS!!!
Here's a few photos we didn't get posted from going west to Hanapepe.

We saw a finger of the Waimea Canyon here on the way to Hanapepe

We also visited this place for breakfast one day. It was very much on "aloha time" and served hash made out of pastrami. (I passed on this one)

Oddly enough as we were looking for Kauai Kookie factory outlet (not my idea!!), we ran across this Zen Buddhist Temple. They had it all taped off so people wouldn't tresspass so I got this photo from the window. It was really hot there. Hanapepe is not a very large place. I don't think there are many people living there.

Here'a a "lunch" of short ribs and teriyaki chickent combo plate with potato/mac salad and a basket of fries from the Downstairs Cafe at the Kukui Ula Village

The katsup was homemade and spicy! It was great.
There's one more post of saying good-bye to Kauai.
