Wii Fit Plus + EA Sports Makes GREAT Holiday Gift for Fitness Gifting

It's holiday time and now you are attending parties and eating more and being less active than last month. Well now's the time to think about getting active and gifting someone (or the whole family) a Nintendo Wii Fit Plus game or set that includes the balance board as well.

Let's be honest, I am a huge Nintendo Wii Fit fan -- I bought the Wii Fit over a year ago and when I saw the Wii Fit Plus at the Long Beach Comicon, I bought it the next day! It's fabulously fun. (I will eventually get good enough to nail everyone in the snowball throwing game).

Here's the official description

Workouts combine the original Wii Fit activities and selections from 15 new balance games and six new strength training and yoga activities. You can input the amount of time you want to spend on your workouts or select an area for personal improvement, and Wii Fit Plus will suggest a number of diverse activities for you.

For the first time, you can mix and match which strength and yoga activities you prefer on a given day. The seamless exercise flows make it easier than ever for you to maintain their daily workout routines. You can see estimates of calories burned and can even activate a feature that lets them weigh their dogs or cats. Wii Fit Plus comes packaged with the Wii Balance Board accessory. For people who already own Wii Fit, the Wii Fit Plus disc will be available for purchase separately.

Here's a video overview of WiiFit Plus -- and it's pretty much on target.

Another workout or additional fitness + fun is the EA Sports Active More Workouts. This addition to the EA Sports Nintendo Wii Compatiable workout games.

This is a video that takes you to the next level with more new exercises and new routines and new levels.

I have this workout at home (thank you to EA Sports) and I am very impressed. If you hit the abs workouts, there are sections (I am advanced in abs workout thanks to lots of pilates and Core Fusion workouts) and this one really had me working to keep the movements in perfect form. It was challenging but fun. As a formerly advanced "step" workout person, I took the mid-range there and I should have gone to advanced. Here's where the accessories of the Nintendo Wii step bench would have been helpful to have.
I like this workout. It's different, and will create a different 20 minute workout every single day for me-- giving me full cross-training effects.
Rate this one as an A-- as in EA Sports ACTIVE!!
