Stylist Michael O'Connor Shares Tips on How to Work the Closet Without Spending a Lot of $$$. LA-Story Recessionista Podcast!

Michael O'Connor is a well-known stylist on the red carpet, tv, and in print. He's definitely a "go to" person for all celebrity style and also style that works for you on a personal day-to-day basis. You can find him as easily working on tv talking about red carpet style as you do QVC talking about about the fabulous jewelry buys they have there and you can find him here on LA-Story.com frequently during awards season talking about what's hot at the Platinum Guild Suite!

Michael O'Connor's back on LA-Story.com to share some tips and ideas about "shopping your closet" and maximizing what you have in the closet.. He offers suggestions on what to sell and what to save.

O'Connor suggests going through your closet by category: pants, suits, skirts, dresses, dress shirts, t-shirts, sweaters, jackets, coats, shoes, and accessories. While you are sifting through each category, pick out items that you haven't worn in the past year and determine whether it's a staple or a trend. Trend items typically go out of style and won't be useful for about 10 years. Don't waste your time because trends often repeat in a different sort of presentation so keeping them isn't a worthwhile endeavor. However timeless pieces (think little black dress, white button down shirt, grey wool jacket or pants) are worth saving because they are the basic building blocks of a fabulous look-- yours!

Look for another podcast relatively soon with Michael O'Connor talking about spring & summer trends.

Thank you again to Michael O'Connor for such a great podcast!!
