Playing Tourist in Kauai: Getting Around the Island for Lots to See & Do
Kauai is a very diverse island-- both in environment (we have had rain every night and during the day at some point every day except Saturday). It's windy in some places, prone to tropical rainshowers in others and dry as a bone in yet others.
Here are some tourist-y type photos of landmarks that I found interesting for the many things that Kauai is-- from its' great landscape to the wonderful people that I have met,
Sunrises and sunsets are special times. I usually am having dinner and a cocktail during sunset but these sunrises always blow me away. Here is a 4 part photo essay

Hit the jump page for the sun

Finally the sun!
Here's another not so natural wonder but it is a natural wonder because it still exists. This tunnel of trees was planted to create shade for the sugar cane wagon/truck drivers who were hauling sugar cane off the plantations to the mill which is what Koloa town is know for-- the home of the sugar plantations and the sugar mill. These trees are over 100 years old and survived many a hurricane.

This photo was taken from the road--standing by the side of the road

This photo was taken inside the car--interesting that both are pretty good -- and the car was MOVING at the time I shot this.

Another bit of natural wonders: a pink dandelion.-- from outside a shop where I was buying a swim suit. Who said I don't stop to smell the roses? (Or notice the dandelions...) There will be more odd and unusual photos like this. It's what I am known for as a photographer-- and yes... I am a photographer (professionally trained)
