LA-Story.com

Kauai is a slower paced place in the Hawaiian Islands. While you can find places to party, you have to look hard for them and most of them are truly more "local" in flavor.
However you can find lots of things to do and much to interest you if you look beyond the blitz and bling to find what goes on in the ebb and flow of the life of those who live and work in Kauai.. partiucularly if you are seeking a different sort of experience.. one that will have you falling asleep fast at the end of the day.

Poipu Point looking west at about 5 PM

This is Poipu Point-- the most southern point of the island of Kauai.. You do NOT swim in these parts if you want to live..

This is the same point but with a major wave hitting it. It's a real force of nature.. sort of like what I think;/wish/am determined to be.

Not everything is easy to find, see or get to as the force of those ocean shots. This house is across the street from a strip of stores but you can barely see it .. and can't determine if it's actually being lived in at this time. But it's got character

This rooster was strutting down the road in front of the hidden house. Interesting creatures, they are all over Kauai.. and you can't get away from them. You just learn to share the space with them.

Another shot of this rooster. There are tons of these creatures-- even in parks, tourist areas and sometimes at the beach. You cannot get away from them -- except maybe in Waimea Canyon.. where it's the rainiest spot on earth.
