Have a Fab Holiday Weekend with "Fire Cracker" Cocktails & Nibbles!

It's a holiday weekend and here are a few cocktails you might want to test-drive along with a couple of great recipes for tasty treats. Definitely worth doing because these are great cocktails and also the treats are too.

It's cocktail time and here are a few curated selections for you to test drive. Some are best done in small batches. Others are punches suited for larger groups.

Corzo_Bliss.jpg

Corzo Bliss
2 parts Corzo Silver Tequila

3/4 parts Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur

5 one-inch chunks of watermelon

5-7 mint leaves

Process: In a mixing glass, muddle the watermelon and mint. Then add remaining ingredients and shake well with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Garnish: watermelon cube and mint leaves

Need something to nibble on while you sip blissfully on this cocktail? Here's an appetizer from a Corzo mixologist for you to try.

Jonathan's Semi-Famous Fresh Guacamole (serves approx 8-10)

4 avocados, peeled
3 limes, juiced
1 yellow onion, chopped
4 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
2 tsp cilantro, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1 tsp chipotle Tabasco sauce (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mash with a fork until creamy and smooth. Serve with pita slices or tortilla chips or both.

This is awesome appetizer and it's definitely worth doubling the recipe.

Here's an off the cuff recipe from me for a limited time cocktail that uses the newest flavor from Pinkberry: Watermelon Pinkberry which is made from freshly diced cucumber, watermelon, and blended watermelon puree.

Get a couple quarts of this tasty new Watermelon Pinkberry frozen treat, This would be a blended drink-- so be aware that you are going to thin this Pinkberry dessert down a touch.

Choose your favorite spirit: Corzo would be a good mix as would Aqwa or even some Cruzan Rum.

Add in some pineapple chunks (not a lot-- just a few for the juice and to contrast the taste).

A 1/4 cup of pineapple juice.

Whip it up in a blender and garnish with chopped cucumber sprinkled on top and put a slice of watermelon on the side of the glass.

Yummy! It's really good. This is a limited time special flavor through August while supplies last. (That means buy a gallon if you can!)

From Agwa-- the coca spirit from Bolivia-- definitely a unique taste. Here are three special cocktails perfect for this holiday and all summer!

Coca Nation

4 Physalis,
(Small orange fruit similar in size and shape to a cherry tomato. The fruit is covered in papery husk. Flavor is a pleasant, unique tomato/pineapple like blend.)

20 ml Lemon juice,

10ml honey,

25 ml liquor 43

Summers Come Early-- a great punch recipe to share with friends.

Another refreshingly fun cocktail is the Amsterdam Martini --a new twist on the traditional martini. It is simple and delicious; here is what you'll need:
