A Little Labor that Pays Off in a Tasty Way: Veev Pitcher Cocktails
It's supposed to be the last hurrah of summer and you best get your cocktail groove on with some kick-ass drinks. Who better to provide you with some inspiration than moi?
Here is a collection of pitcher drinks that makes it easy to serve a crowd (or not) of people and you can relax while the party is going
Veev is an acai-based spirit and while you might not have it in your cupboard, it's worth trying. Other spirits that can sub in for this include the ginger vodka that was mentioned a few days ago, the Agwa (coca leaf) infused liqueur, as well as Rum Jumbie varieties, and some seriously great tequilas. Hmmm if I were having lots of people over -- I would make a pitcher of each different spirit and then label them. What have you got to loose?
Açai Lemonade
½ bottle of VeeV
Fill with lemonade
Top with cranberry juice
6 lemon wheels
Fill the pitcher 3/4 way with ice, add all ingredients and stir well.
Açai Mojito
½ bottle of VeeV
5 oz simple syrup
6 oz fresh lime juice
4 oz blueberry purée (optional)
5 springs of mint
Top with club soda
Muddle the mint in the bottom of the pitcher. Fill the pitcher 3/4 way with ice, add all ingredients and stir well.
Superfruit Margarita
½ bottle of VeeV
5 oz blanco tequila
7 oz fresh lime juice
5 oz simple syrup
4 oz POM juice (optional)-- and if you use it, check out the various flavors . Pom mango would rock!
4 lime wheels, for garnish
Fill the pitcher 3/4 way with ice, add all ingredients and stir well.
Superfruit Soda
½ bottle of VeeV
1 oz of fresh lime juice
Fill with club soda
Frozen blueberries, for garnish
Fill the pitcher 3/4 way with ice, add all ingredients and stir well.
