Oscar Fashion: Feteafete.com Blog & LA-Story.com Celebrity Fashion Critique! Part 4

Feteafete.com Blogger Tami and I thought it might be interesting to compare notes on various celebrities who seemed pretty much to get it right for the Oscars. This is a day 4 of a 5 part series of posts (one each day on my part) of key celebrities and what we thought about their ensembles.

Most of these images have been widely seen, they are easily recognizable and have been out there for a while. Tami's known for her work with fashion designer Colleen Quen and loves featuring unique "quintessential" fashions and accessories (have you seen her blog lately? It's chock full of interesting fashion items). She has serious fashion chops!! I don't think I need to tell you about my love of fashion-- and how Michaela Jedinak

Penelope Cruz

Penelope Cruz was totally channeling Audrey Helpburn in this Balmain vintage outfit. It was sweetly romantic and charming without overdoing it like Sarah Jessica Parker. Love it. White is not my favorite color (and some though it was too princess bride) but she pulled it off nicely a la Roman Holiday.

I like the essence of the dress. It's much like the black one she wore at the BAFTAS (see Michaela's review) and while it works a la Audrey Hepburn, the lack of color just drains the life out of her. Make this red, deep rose, burgundy, deep forest green, any range of blue hues and this would be a smashing dress. Penelope, I think you got just a bit tired towards the end. The bag doesn't work with the dress. If you are going to pull off that dress, then carry a vintage style bag too.

Part 5 of this series is tomorrow and there might just be a double-header in that one too.
