GH Fans: The Truth Comes Out: Luke aka Tony Geary Had a Fling with Elizabeth Taylor!

Featured on the Wendy Williams show last week was Anthony Geary (aka LUKE) who had a long run with the show as part of that dynamic duo "Luke and Laura" but he talks about having Elizabeth Taylor on the show and what happened between the two of them

Anthony Geary talks about his two-year affair with Hollywood legend Liz Taylor:
WW: I remember when Liz Taylor entered the show and she's always been fabulous. Were you friends with her in real life?

AG: We were. I used to never talk about my relationship with Elizabeth Taylor because I'm a gentleman and don't kiss and tell, but she did an interview a few years ago for Talk Magazine where she outed us as more than friends.

WW: Really?!

AG: Yeah, so I don't mind telling that. I was sort of her boy toy for a couple of years.

WW: I love it.

AG: I don't mind. A great story about her: at the time, I think it was 1983, and People Magazine did a cover story on me and they had a picture of me on the cover and the blurb there was 'Anthony Geary looking for life after Luke... Admits his affair with Elizabeth Taylor was a hoax. '

I never said such a thing, I said, 'No, we are just friends.' So Elizabeth calls me and she says, 'Tony? I hear you told People Magazine that we didn't sleep together. That's the worse thing that anyone has ever said about me. '

On whether over zealous fans constantly referring to him as Luke Spencer bothers him:

WW: So I'm sure people come up to you all the time and say, 'Luke and Laura.' Does it bother you?

AG: No. It used to when I was a younger and a more temperamental man and I was trying to separate myself from Luke Spencer. But I've lived with him a long time and I find it's flattering.

Anthony talks about his lengthy portrayal of Luke Spencer and how it came about:

WW: How did it end up that you stayed on the show?

AG: Well they hired me for 13 weeks to add mayhem and murder and be a bad guy. My producer Gloria Monty had this idea of creating an anti-hero and sticking him in the center of her show, but she had to sort of sneak him past ABC because they weren't sure they wanted anyone as vile as Luke.

On what he remembers most about the time of Luke and Laura hysteria:

AG: It was a very overwhelming time. I had a letter from a woman who rescheduled her surgery so that she could watch the show and I felt really bad for her that she didn't have a VCR.

Anthony Geary dishes on being Elizabeth Taylor's boy toy:

Wow!! Who would have thought about Anthony Geary and Elizabeth Taylor. Shows that she shouldn't have married Larry Fortensky. At least Anthony Geary would have understood her world.

Now if life imitates art...
